The World Building is adjacent to Gangnam Station and has an area of 5,900 square meters with five stories above ground and three stories below ground. In 2004, the building was remodeled from seven stories above ground to nine stories above ground, with a vertical extension of two to four stories.
The columns on all floors were reinforced with steel plates, beams and slabs were reinforced with wire tension. In particular, this project features vertical extension work to allow the existing fifth-floor elevators to run up to the ninth floor in two weeks.
