This project consists in investigating the structure’s functionality and the possibility of remodeling the building, due to the change in the building’s scope: from neighborhood living and accommodation facilities to business facilities. Changing the scope of the building increases the loads, therefore a safety structural analysis was conducted as well. After the investigation, measures to improve areas with physical and functional defects or performance degradation were suggested. A particular focus was given to the flat slab structure which presented cracks in the lower part; appropriate crack repair methods were suggested accordingly to the intensity of the cracks. |
